Glowing with CHANEL at Paris Fashion Week (Pt. III)

The last show I attended at Paris Fashion Week was a dream come true because it was CHANEL. A definite pinch-me moment! As a model, to see a Chanel show was an experience I always dreamed of and I’m still relishing in the whole experience. Before I get ahead of myself, I’ll start from the beginning.

I went back to London briefly before returning to Paris the night before the show to attend the welcome dinner at Lou Lou restaurant. This was the first glimpse I had of women head-to-toe in tweed, looking ready to rock the runway themselves. They were all fabulous! I mean, Chanel can make anyone look absolutely stunning, so this dinner was one for the eyes and the taste buds. I had the most incredible truffle pizza - a fun indulgent treat! The night set a tone that just had us buzzing into the next morning: Show Day!

Getting ready, knowing I was about to embark on my first ever Chanel show, was nerve-racking and also powerfully exciting. The streets of Paris had a sparkle to them as we made our way to the Grand Palais in the rain. Even Paris knows to GLOW for the Chanel show. Upon arrival, I was completely overwhelmed by the paparazzi presence and media overhaul. They snapped away at all the guests of the show, focusing on anyone dressed in Chanel. With a modeling background, I always had an intimate relationship with the photographers that shot me and really valued how well I knew the people seeing me in such a vulnerable way. This was a completely different type of experience. All anonymous faces with large black lenses pointed at the beaming lovely ladies in Chanel accessorized with umbrellas. It was such a special experience, that at this moment I realized how appreciative I was to be invited. And how grateful I was for my fabulous jacket from E L A London accessorized with Chanel.

Once inside, we were immersed in the rooftops of Paris. The stage was set for a symbolic experience of being on top of a city, above all the chaos and mayhem that lay below. A luxury lens into the city of love. As the show began, I was most impressed with the collections and the timings. The audience had great opportunity to see the entire collection, as all the models were highly visible for long periods of time. With the clear visibility of the set, I could really see everything and appreciate all the pieces of the show. I’ve been looking at all the looks from the show to see what might even make its way into my own wardrobe. Any thoughts or recommendations? I know I’ve shared a lot of fashion content, but prepare yourselves as loads of beauty content is on its way. Looking forward to sharing my journey with Irene Forte, Indie Beauty Expo as well as my experience with Restory. All coming to the blog soon!
