Happy Friday lovelies! In continuation of last week’s post on Paris Fashion Week with the fabulous Knightsbridge boutique, ELA London, I wanted to specifically call out Day 3 of my trip which was the day of the Elie Saab Spring 2020 show! Elie Saab has such a special place in my heart, I had the haute couture experience for my engagement dress. Thinking about it makes me feel like a Disney princess. It is one of those brands where whatever you see is just so desirable, high-end and absolutely swoon-worthy. The artistic abilities showcased in every single collection resonates with me deeply. The brand is so wearable, one of the few brands that I can wholeheartedly say that about. I could wear ANYTHING from Elie Saab and feel like a confident, working woman and mum. So now that I’ve fan-girled enough, let’s talk about what I wore and the show itself!

I was lucky enough to wear an Elie Saab dress to the show, a leather green number with the same color used in the collection for a stunning long evening gown. While this leather number was truly divine, it does not quite make sense to invest in it forever as it would get such little wear. That’s why I was thrilled to use Front Row for the first time, a rental service of high fashion right here in London. So with my outfit sorted, all that was left was getting my glow on! The morning of the show I had booked in with my makeup artist from London Millicent Makeup, whose trip luckily overlapped mine, she really understands my GLOW and is so incredibly talented. The hotel then booked me into a small salon down the road for a quick blowdry and updo. I definitely had my SHOW GLOW. Despite having to run out of one Uber (stuck in a side road through the one way system outside our hotel) over Champs-Élysées in 6 inch heels and a Croco Birkin in one hand into another Uber to make sure we would make the show we got there in enough time to enjoy the pre-show papping over cameras. FRONT ROW here we go…

The collection was floaty, bold and inspired by the diversity of the African landscape. The impeccable blues, greens, and browns portrayed this in quite an artistic way, capturing what one thinks of when they picture Africa. The pieces were feminine and daring, a bit like yours truly. The casting was spot-on, with the most gorgeous models cumulating from a variety of ethnicities. Saab ventured out of evening gowns for most of the collection and proved just how wearable the brand is capable of being. The accessories showcased also provided a new dimension of beading and evidently represented the 54 countries that make up Africa.

As romantic as the show went, it was back to London where mummy duties were calling for the weekend! The Eurostar link between the two cities makes it too easy to do these trips, and I can feel them coming more often. February, perhaps? I would love to hear your thoughts on the collection, any recommendations for future girls trips or anything you’d like me to try skincare wise below!
