Get Up and Glow

As a mum of a two year old, I have little time to rest in the morning before mummy duty calls! Two years ago that meant pumping milk and today it means getting nursery runs, but the lack of time I have in the morning is still the same. I used to have a quick and easy ritual that meant a quick swipe of micellar water over my face, a dabble of facial serum (on a good day) , a spritz of rose water, SPF moisturiser and I was out the door.

However, I strive to give myself at least 5-10 minutes to enjoy my routine. I see it as a ritual of self-care towards overall wellness for myself. I’ve outlined this routine below, and want to hear your routine as well!

STEP 1:

Prep your skin! I prefer a Micellar Water, specifically La Roche Posay. They have varieties of it for all skin types whether your skin is sensitive, oily, or more. Even while you sleep, your pores can fill with sweat, dirt, oil build up and more, meaning its essential to cleanse even if all you’ve done since your last cleanse was sleep. This makes this step so essential prior to cleansing.

TIP: MUJI’s Peelable Cotten 162 Sheets are a dream and budget-friendly!

STEP 2:

Finding a cleanser that best nourishes my skin is no easy feat. I have often found cleansers made me feel dry after application. That is why I cannot rave enough about Romilly Wilde’s Light + Energy Serum Cleanser. It is 100% natural skincare that assists with removing any impurities on the skin and leaves my face feeling refreshed to take on the day.

TIP: With this cleanser, I take the time to breathe in the aromas, take 3 long deep breaths then gently massage into the skin. It soothes my mind and helps me remain present and cherish this small window of time to myself.

STEP 3:

Facial Serum - the true skin food. I am loving serums that are full of ingredients to assist with a whole range of skin issues. wWhether its the Sundara K Face Serum or the Renew + Repair Oil from Clary. They truly give a natural glow to the skin while packing it with powerful nutrients to restore and repair.

STEP 4:

The one product you should never leave the house without wearing: SPF. I love to use products that do 2 steps at once such as Suntegrity’s SPF tinted moisturiser. It products your skin from sun damage while giving a little colour for an extra glowing look. Brands such as Barbara Sturm have also made this essential step so simple with SPF 50 drops that you can quickly apply to the face. No excuses, ladies, SPF is a must!

STEP 5:

Give yourself a smile (because positive thoughts are everything!) and a little lip balm and you are ready glow on and tackle your day!

I’d love to hear your beauty routine and how you get up glow! Send me a note at stephanie.abri@icloud.com.
