Get the Glow Down on a Blooming Ingredient: Rose Water

My current favourite go-to ingredient is rose water, and its not by any means new, its usage dates back to the 7th Century AD most notably popular in Persia.

For centuries women have turned to rose water as a source of youth, both directly applying rose water to the skin and as an ingestible. In my book, it is ‘THE’ beauty ingestible. This is why it’s my go-to ingredient, it enables the skin to look hydrated and glowing, from the inside and out - restoring water and fluids in dry skin. Rich in antioxidants it protects cells in skin against damage with many incredible benefits I’ll quickly detail below.

ROSE WATER BENEFITS:

1. Anti-inflammatory - Helping to soothe skin conditions like acne, rosacea and eczema. I’m prone to a splotchy face and love what rose water does to help soothe and hydrate areas of skin that need some extra TLC.

2. Anti-bacterial - Anti-microbial activity assisting with reducing acne. I used to use ingredients with far more chemicals and had so many breakouts! Crazy how such a simple switch to using a natural product can help calm and even eliminate breakouts.

3. PH Neutralising properties - Helping balance the skin. I’m sure none of us wake up and go, ‘hmmm I hope the PH of my skin is ok’, but balanced skin is healthy, glowing skin!

So with these benefits in mind, there are a variety of products that fit all budgets and different types of skin. I rounded up my favourite rose water mists below, I hope you love them as much as I do.

MY TOP ROSE WATER PRODUCTS

1. Kora Cosmetics Balancing Rose Mist

2. Susanne Kaufmann Rose Water Mist

3. Elizé by Rabee (only available to my Iranian readers in selected stores within Iran, it is definitely worth sleuthing for!)
