Lockdown Beauty Rituals - Let's Glow

Lockdown Beauty Rituals - Let's Glow

WOW, feels like a lifetime since I have sat down and written a blog post, when it has actually only been 22 days! How time progresses these days is so different, we have so much of it, and time is NOT flying! Even thoughI haven’t been blogging as much, I’ve been putting my energy towards IG Lives with my fellow female entrepreneurs instead. It has been my way forward and I have got into a groove (confidence groove, I truly was suffering from anxiety when it came to videos/lives etc) and absolutely loving talking about what BEAUTY means to me. I’ve covered this in some of my previous posts and if you are a new glow getter you can read them here and here.

I am excited to have some great IG live collaborations lined up this coming week on th topic I’ll be covering today, LOCKDOWN BEAUTY RITUALS to encourage self-care and in turn keeping us glowing from within! So without further ado, lets get started!

First it is important for us to dissect what we mean by BEAUTY and RITUALS: this is where the ‘conscious’ part of my blog name comes in. Beauty firstly, should be understood holistically taking the word as a state of being rather than a superficial look. It starts from within and the GLOW shines from out. A quote I am loving right not is ‘NURTURE not TORTURE’ said by @cleanmuse the founder of my all time favourite skincare brand, @RomillyWilde. She was explaining how during this lockdown we should more than ever be taking care of ourselves and not with intense lotions and potions but with calming products. While everything is intensely high (hormones from stress, etc) our skincare should be balancing it out, using rejuvenating, rich in nature, products! What do we mean by RITUAL? Something we can do often that helps our mindset and balances out negative energy to encourage growth in the right direction. My BEAUTY RITUALS are my form meditation and a way of soothing my nerves and skin during this time (and year-round!).

Never let anything dim the light that shines from within!

Here are a few of my BEAUTY RITUALS and the beauty products that help me along the way:

My Morning Skincare Rituals

Take whatever time you can get!

The products which help me the most to unwind and relax is firstly the Light + Energy Serum Cleanser from Romilly Wilde. This oil centric cleansing BALM has over 10 essential oils and 15 flower and botanical extracts packed inside. Smelling and feeling a dream with zero dryness after.

The Face Halo non-toxic, reusable pads are key to make washing my face even more enjoyable. With the soft texture it helps to get rid of impurities on the skin in a non-harsh way- remembering nurture not torture. I put some water on it, rinse slightly then softly wipe over my face to wipe off my cleanser for a fresh clean face.

Bath Time Rituals

Usually my bath will consist of more floating bath toys than water (#Mumlife!) but once I a week I try to get some bath time to myself.

My first point of call is the Bath + Body Oil from Clary Collection which is the best multifunctional product invented. Made with just a handful of natural ingredients, pump a few drops into the bath and experience your most nourishing bath water yet. The oil then can be directly applied on the skin for an extra lock in of moisture. It is also an easy oil to give yourself a little anti cellulite/lymphatic drainage massage and if you are too tired, just a few circular motions over the legs, thighs, arms etc.

Wait hang on, no bath is complete without mood lighting! I use some simple cream large candles for the mood and then either one of my favourites from NEOM Organics, Diptique or my current fav: Cinderose by Boy Smells.

The Ultimate Oil, Edition 29 by Ches Editions is the perfect post bath hair oil. Just add a few drops onto the hands then brush through those split ends that I am sure I am not the only one suffering with. This amazingly natural, beautifully curated oil also has doubled up as the best cuticle oil for those DIY mani and pedis at home.

Skincare Rituals

Throughout the day I use some amazing skincare products that just remind myself to nurture!

Two new amazing editions, amazing in their own right are by no coincidence from the same brand The Grown Alchemist.

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I suffer from the worst dry lips! However, I have dry lips no more with the Antioxidant + 3 Complex Lip Balm. It has worked wonders also adding the perfect little gloss for those IG lives or Zoom meetings.

Second product is a must needs for all of us as even our skin needs protecting from the blue light radiating off ‘THE’ most important aspect of our lives right now…technology! Enter: The Detox Hydra-Mist + Phyto-Peptide 1. Just spritz post cleanse or over makeup or like me tinted moisturiser over the day as a great protectant. It’s a must!

Irene Forte Rose Oil is another product that become part of a ritual, doing regular workouts calls for a quick afternoon shower followed by a few pumps of this Sicilian goodness. All the products are formulated in Italy using produce from organic farms which explains why it is extremely nourishing with a lovely soft silky feeling. It is the definition of skin food!

Just taking those few minutes, be mindful of what your doing and this can create just a few seconds of bliss to ground you and allow yourself to reset and carry on with the tasks of the day!

Beauty Sleep Rituals

When I haven’t fallen asleep mid-movie on the sofa….

I create the setting for bed with a candle like Neom’s Tranquility. This is followed by a nice cup of T2 Sleep Tight Tea…ohh wait this is the moment I pass out on the sofa with my Patchology Restoring Night Gel Eye Masks on post DIY facials with hubby …. that has become a ritual for us! Screw the candlelit dinner, we are all about the robes, headbands and beauty products in this household!

Regardless of where I fall asleep though the intention is there, I have created some self loving rituals on what suits me. The last important item not to dismiss its importance is the Romilly Wilde Silk Eye Mask. It is the most simple invention and they are a dream. They are calming for the skin, relaxing for the mind and like us who love to let natural light in, it’s the perfect accessory for some good beauty sleep, even if its just a few hours!

I really could go on and on about the products I love and cherish, I do want to highlight again, I am not paid to write about these products, I am sharing what I love in the hopes of encouraging you to enjoy some selfcare with a little indulgence into some consciously curated products, good for the mind, body and soul. Wishing you health and happiness during this time!
