THE Conscious Beauty Wellness Space: Linnaean Living

THE Conscious Beauty Wellness Space: Linnaean Living

Picture a space that does all this...There is a space so relaxing yet colourful that you can eat, hang out, relax and shop conscious beauty products all in one beautiful location. And wait, there’s more! Did I mention there’s the calming whir of a blowdryer? Yes, an amazingly elegant hair salon is there along with treatment rooms on the next floor and there’s even a spot to get a manicure. No, you’re not dreaming, this is Linnaean Living.

While I have visited before, I decided to really dedicate a day to trying every single facet of this space, so without further ado, let’s go through it all!

The Salon - Hair:

This is not your average salon. The chairs are pink for one (I mean, who doesn’t love a beautiful pink chair?) and the products are carefully thought out to be high-performance while still being derived from natural ingredients. The lovely stylist, Lulu Richards washed and blowdried my hair on this day. I felt so refreshed and ready to take on my afternoon. Haircare is still something I’m working on finding conscious products for and her guidance and recommendations were amazing, as was my hair once she was done with it!

The Salon - Nails:

I got a classic Mani-Pedi and Linnaean Living prides itself on using ‘free-from’ gels and polishes that are up to 90% natural, vegan and cruelty-free. I had done some research and was intrigued to try a more conscious way of my regular gel colour appointment. For a while, I tried to have no polish, but I felt naked and not put together, then I tried to use just a polish rather than gel, but my fellow mums can attest that a fresh manicure around a toddler lasts exactly 5 seconds sans chipping, so Linnaean was the answer! I am not going to lie it doesn’t last as long as the more generic gel manicure brands, however, it doesn’t have the toxic ingredients in it so I’m going to say that’s a worthy trade-off. Plus, the array of colours are amazing and the look and finish were immaculate!

P.S. If you cannot make it into the salon and prefer to try a more natural nail polish at home, check out Fedua nail colours on Amazon!

Second Floor - Treatments:

After a quick pit stop to grab some delicious herbal tea, I was taken upstairs to botanical decor heaven where the green wallpaper makes you feel like you’re in an Old Hollywood movie because of the elegance surrounding you everywhere you look. The beautiful treatment rooms serve an impressive array of services, from advanced aesthetic body treatments like the Cellulite Reduction Treatment (that’s non-invasive!) to a lovely curation of aesthetic facial treatments, some product led by some of the best beauty brands out there such as Orveda, Susanne Kaufmann and Dr. Barbara Sturm. Then more aesthetic style facial techniques like micro-needling. My list of services I want to try is getting very long, I’ll be sure to share on my Instagram my review of every one I try. Stay tuned for my review of the Orveda Recovery and Anti-Fatigue Glow Facial!

The Cafe & Restaurant:

Who would’ve ever thought a 90% vegan menu could be so yummy? There are really no words to describe how amazing the food was. I want to try each and every dish! Perfect pit stop for a bowl of good-for-you-ingredients to tackle the rest of the day. The ambiance is perfect to relax with a good book, a quick catch up with friends or in my case, business meetings!

Overall Linnaean Living is my new GLOW to place. For me it’s a wonderful place that speaks directly to my ethos, it emphasizes the ‘conscious’ part of my blog name. I look forward to many an afternoon here and if you ever spot me, do come say hi! Have any treatment recommendations or spots you’d like me to try?
