Wishing a Glowing Day to All Mums!
Hello Glow Getters,
Where do I even begin? It has taken me about 5 days to actually start writing this post because I feel like every day has brought a new wave of emotions and uncertainty. It’s surreal what we are all going through. People’s weddings, graduations, trips, sports seasons, birthdays and even just a simple, fun night out with your loved ones are all replaced with hoarding supplies, panic grocery store runs and a whole lot of time at home. The mood has definitely changed but one common denominator that we can take with us is the importance of self-care and caring for others and our loved ones.
So Mother’s Day this year likely looks different for all of us. I myself am a mummy’s girl (as is Mouse, yippee!) and it was emotional to see my mum last Sunday, knowing I likely wouldn’t get to see her next week and that I didn’t quite know when it would be okay for one of us to travel to see one another. My mum is a beautiful, healthy 69 but she is in that high-risk age bracket and needs to isolate for her safety. Mouse keeps asking ‘Is Nana coming to stay?’ and I literally have to hold back tears. It’s an emotional time! I’m so grateful Mouse is so young that she won’t remember much of this time and will be home with me.
Over the past week, I have been making a little care package for my mum for Mother’s Day with the added touch from Mouse in the form of handmade cards. I’m the Glow Getter after all so it would be unnatural to not stock her up on her favorite beauty products, some immune boosters plus some new coveted essentials: toilet paper, house disinfectant, disposable gloves, masks and DIY hand sanitiser I made from a POOSH recipe - check it out here, the ingredients are simpler than you think!
This isn’t quite what I had in mind for Mother’s Day this year, I was hoping to do a little lunch date at Linnaean Living followed by an indulgent Orveda Skincare facial. If you’re craving a little taste of our former favorite cafe and beauty haunts, Linnaean Living delivers to your door!
And then there’s the shift from in-person to online shopping. This is actually quite new for me as I prefer to interact with founders, sales staff, makeup artists, photographers and other members of the beauty community (like all of YOU!) which I now can only do online. So anyway, I wanted to share some of my favorite ways you can glow up at home digitally!
1. Online Skin Consultations
2. Beauty products
3. Immune Boosters
4. Hand Care
So what does the Glow Getter’s Mother’s Day look like? It’ll be a quiet, simple one at home. But I am looking forward to spending time with Mouse and my hubby at home. Going to try and coax the hubby to try Luneai’s new radiance mask with me and enjoy a delicious Sunday roast. Also…. I will then be tuning into Dr Maryam Zamani’s Instagram live at 5PM on @mzskinofficial answering her beauty communities skincare & beauty queiries.
Sending all the love right now, stay safe, healthy and glowing my friends!
XO Steph
