Glow Work It - Face Gym Review

Glow Work It - Face Gym Review

This post has been a long-time coming as I have been going to Face Gym for around a year now and I consider it one of my best kept secrets for beautiful skin, so I’m excited to share it with you all!

I have tried the Signature Facial along with a few add-on treatments such as the IV DRIP (Before you think EEEK NEEDLES, its actually a powerful energy of vitamin water sprayed directly onto your face with force) and also the CRYO add-on (I am not going to lie, this certainly hurt the first time, but the pain was temporary and the gentle facial massage after with a serum made that few minutes of a strange painful sensation disappear and the results are way worth it!).

WHAT IS FACEGYM? ‘It’s not a facial it’s a workout,’ is their slogan and I personally attest that it certainly is a work out with a complete set of steps similar to what you do at your local gym. There is a Warm Up - cleansing the skin with a light massage technique. This is followed by Cardio - muscle manipulation techniques such as kneading the face, for me this helps me relax my jaw as its always really tight (the stresses and tension certainly comes up from being a full-time mum and entrepreneur). Next is Sculpting - using the FaceGym Pro EMS (Electrical muscle stimulation) tool (I have to be honest this is a rather strange sensation at first, you lose all ability to control your facial movements as the cool metal electrical points glide over and around your face, I am still using the MEDIUM level). GLOW WORK IT to the clients who are up to the high level, and finally a Cool Down. The step usually consists of a mask or highly concentrated facial serum gently massaged into the face. What I LOVE? They never forget an SPF, they have a great range of tinted moisturisers perfect for preparing you to go out into the outside world.

WHY FACEGYM? The main purpose of this concept is to tone and tighten the forgotten 40 muscles in the face, most of us are gym goers, once we realise we cannot continue to eat and indulgence in yummy food without the consequence of gaining a few kilos, but that is to work on the other approx. 650 muscles in our body. What about our face? I sure know if I go through a faze of running as my daily cardio my face does start to drop and look gaunt, WELL NO LONGER, with regular FACE GYM appointments and use of their incredible training sticks my facial muscles are getting a good work out and I certainly feel the plumpness and natural glow illuminating my skin. Besides the skin benefits, it is also so fun to have little Mouse join me on these trips to not only show the importance of taking care of your skin but also meaning an appointment does not detract from our time together. I am forever grateful for the staff for being so accommodating and kind, as a mum you always love places who are kid-friendly!

WHAT ARE THE TRAINING STICKS? I keep getting asking this question over and over again as I am an avid fan and continually upload images and stories of applying them to my face pre-work out and the glow I get during and after-work out. They are motion activated skincare products with plant stem cells, antioxidants and vitamins that are activated by moisture and heat. I swipe some of the stick over my face prior to work out and then within around 5/10 minutes into the exercise I start to feel the tingle. I am working out my face and my body at the same time - perfect for a mum who needs to GLOW on the GO.

I first tried the Pink Clay Training Stick when FACE GYM collaborated with Define London (an invigorating barre fitness class) for a 45 minute work out session and a training stick to choose from and take home. And WOW, the amazing tingling sensation that starts to occur after around 10 minutes of working out and building up and sweat hooked me instantly! The pink clay stick specifically brings vitality and radiance to tired skin while simultaneously tackling dark spots and pigmentation, this certainly ticks the boxes in terms of my skin issues.

Recently it was time to shake it up and try something new, the Spirulina Firming and Lifting Stick, assisting with overall definition and tightening of the skin and helping to strengthen skin prone to irritation. Again perfect for me. I do believe this one is more reactive than the pink clay, I sweat a lot more.

So in conclusion…
